  • Overview

As we approach World Refugee Day, come join local author Maryam Rafiee to hear her story of survival and displacement as she presents her book Dear Baba: a story through letters.

While only a teenager in Iran, with her father imprisoned for his political views, Maryam wrote him a series of letters she was unable to send. Fifteen years later, in the wake of her father’s second imprisonment, Maryam has published these letters to reveal the suffering undergone by prisoners of conscience and their families, and their struggle to sustain hope in the face of tyranny.

Toronto Reference Library, Hinton Learning Theatre, Third Floor.
