Persepolis + Short Animation Program Presented by TISAF × Rangarang

An evening of animation celebrating the work of Marjane Satrapi, co-presented by the Toronto International Short Animation Festival (TISAF) and Rangarang World.

This special screening pays homage to Marjane Satrapi, a celebrated Iranian-French artist, filmmaker, and author whose impact on contemporary culture has been profound. She is widely recognized for her autobiographical graphic novel and the Academy Award–nominated animated film Persepolis — a deeply personal work exploring themes of identity, exile, resilience, and the pursuit of freedom.

The evening kicks off with a carefully selected program of short animated films from Iranian and Francophone filmmakers, showcasing a rich variety of artistic voices and styles. The feature presentation, Persepolis (in French with English subtitles), directed by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud, will follow.

A portion of ticket proceeds will be directed to PEN Canada in support of its mission to defend freedom of expression and protect writers, journalists, and artists facing persecution.

Event Schedule:
– 6:00 PM – Doors Open
– 6:30 PM – Short Animation Program
– 7:30 PM – Persepolis Screening
