Ferdowsi Persian School

About 25 years ago, the small Iranian students’ community in Montreal decided to create an environment in which their children could learn their mother tongue, despite the minimal facilities

For this to be possible, the teamwork and collaboration of all parents was essential. There were children from various age groups and grades. Each one of the parents accepted the role of teaching one of the grades and every week a different family hosted the children along with their teachers for school hours on the weekends.

For two years, the students would go to Ottawa to take their official exams and receive their official grades, recognized by Iran’s Education Ministry.

After a while, the end of year exams were held in Montreal, in a room reserved from a university along with official exam questions sent from the Education Ministry of Iran and the supervision of a representative sent from them.

This is how the Iranian school started in Montreal with the help and dedication of the Iranian families.

With an increase in the number of enrolled students at the school and the presence of official certified Iranian teachers, who had come to Montreal due to their Spouse’s studies, and by the request of Parents and teachers, the Iranian Education Ministry recognized the legitimacy of the school. From then onwards, the school operated directly under the jurisdiction of the supervision of Iranian schools in Europe along with its own personnel of highly qualified teachers and staff.

Now, it has been more than 25 years since and Fredowsi Iranian School takes pride in its capability and capacity to educate beloved Iranian students in the grades of pre-school, elementary, secondary and pre-university while granting the students official diplomas and certificates.
