Araz School of Percussion was established in 2010 in Toronto. The school has offered lessons for percussion instruments such as Daf, Tombak, Dayereh, Naqara, Udu, Dammam, Darbuka and Dohol in addition to its rhythm training classes for children, group percussion classes and monthly workshops for enthusiasts of various ages and levels. The school has run workshops for other percussionists from Canada, U.S, Europe and Iran as well. It has received several awards from Canadian Cancer Society, York and Ryerson universities, IC Youth, North York Community House, Tirgan, RBC Multicultural and Nowruz Festivals in recognition of the outstanding performance of its students.
