- Overview
Our next Azerbaijani dance workshop + potluck will be contributed to Yalli dance.
Yalli is an Azerbaijani group dance that is recently registered at UNESCO with the urgent attention to keep this form of dance alive.
We will teach many different joyful Yalli dance steps from different regions of North and south Azerbaijan. You don’t need to have any prior dance experience to enjoy this event. Just come with a smile and an open mind. 🙂
As this is a potluck event, please bring nice food to share (homemade food would be most appreciated! Pizza is okay, but NO chips please!).
This is a volunteer cultural activity. Please help us keep it ongoing with our rent payment of the suggested ($5 – $10 donation) at the entrance.
Time & Location: Sunday, December 23rd from 7-10 pm at 25 Cecil Street in Toronto ( United Steelworkers Hall ).
Notes:
– There is plenty of free parking at the back of the building. The location is also super close to TTC.
– Kids are welcome, but please keep an eye on them especially when our dance group is performing.
– Do wear comfortable shoes (leather/suede soles) and clothes to allow you to dance more comfortably and enjoy the best as the floor might be slippery.
– If you dance, you will sweat! So, be mindful of what you wear. You will have exercise and fun at the same time! - Photos
