Sound Palace is an exciting sonic and visual exploration of ambience, electronica, grooves, video installation/ projections
This launches the first of six immersive events of the next two years at and around the VCC KEC Auditorium. A fantastic new series!!
Our first Sound Palace guest curator is Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi (b. 1997 Tehran, Iran), one of Canada’s most exciting young composers, writing for instrumental, electronic, and electroacoustic-visual works. Kimia is currently engaged in the Doctor of Musical Arts program in Composition at Stanford University.

Sound Palace evolved out of Mixtophonics, the popular monthly workshop series at LanaLous from 2018 to 2020 that featured musicians from wildly different backgrounds and musical genres.
By combining electronics, projection artists, grooves, noise artists, drummers, and world-class improvisers, Sound Palace creates a unique, exciting ambient sound world.

If the New York Times calls it “…an incredible evening of sonic and visual delight…”, you know it HAS to be good.
