Join us for an evening reception to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the execution of ten Bahá’í women in Shiraz, Iran at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The ten women were tragically killed for refusing to renounce their Bahá’í beliefs, which include gender equality, unity, justice, and honesty. Most were in the prime of their twenties, the youngest being seventeen and the eldest over fifty.
Through sharing stories of resilience and hope, this event will honour the ten women, as well as the many women who continue to struggle for gender equality in Iran and other parts of the world in the face of great oppression.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the accompanying Our Story Is One art exhibit during the reception at 6:00pm. The commemorative program will begin at 7:00pm.
