Markham is home to one of the most diverse communities in North America, and within each family home is a history of tradition, beliefs, and recipes. The Markham Cooks project aims to unite seniors throughout the community through a passion all cultures share, the love of food. How will we do that? By capturing family recipes and stories through a community cookbook that will be available to residents across Markham.
Next time you think about making a curry, you’ll be able to follow a recipe that’s been handed down through generations of a Markham family.
Markham Public Library is looking for individuals to join the project and leave a mark on their community. Parya is participating in this project by contributing 10 recipes by 10 members to the cookbook. Each member will receive a free cookbook at the end of the project. Members will booking Parya on November 22nd, 2016. For registration please contact us.
