About the seminar:
There are already more smart devices connected to the internet today than there are human beings in the world. Designing IoT devices is creating massive opportunities for existing businesses and giving rise to brand new markets and companies. The potential economic impact has been estimated to be more than $10 trillion per year. The goal of this seminar is to help engineers learn about the engineering challenges of IoT devices for designing the products of tomorrow, whether they are wearable devices, medical implants, connected cars or industrial turbines. In the end two case studies will be explained in details:
1.     General Electric Optimizes Asset Operation with Digital Twins
2.     Search and Rescue Drone-Satellite SystemAbout the speaker:
Mohsen Tayefeh is strategic and technical business manager at SimuTech Group (ANSYS Elite Chanel Partner). He has higher education in engineering and business fields. He studied engineering in Tehran Polytechnic from 1997 to 2008 and he has been recognized as top-rank PhD student by office of honor students based on his grades and several valuable papers in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems. Along with his study he has been senior consultant for 10 years for major industries like Saipa, Mapna, TAM Iran Khodro, Khozestan Steel Company, Sazman Gostaresh, etc. After immigration to Canada in 2010, during his transition period he had a post doc period at Polytechnique Montréal before his new job at SimuTech as engineering manager where he managed several significant international projects in north America and Europe. On the business side, he took advanced management and business courses at McGill Executive Institute (2013-present). To learn more about automotive industry in north America, in 2014 he moved to General Motors as a senior consultant and program lead. Regarding his strong technical and business background, in the beginning of 2015 SimuTech brought him back in their head office to direct business relationship, methodology development and technology implementation for major clients like SNC-Lavalin, WSP, GE, Rolls-Royce Nuclear, Candu, OPG, MAGNA, AECL, CH2M, Husky, BWXT, Sciex, Sanofi, etc.
