Inspired by a zombie webcomic, Joshua P’ng picked up a pen and hasn’t stopped writing. He writes poetry and short stories, usually in a speculative setting, and has appeared in the filling station, untethered, Daily Science Fiction, Sewer Lid, and the Great Lakes Review.
Susie Berg is the former co-curator of the Plasticine Poetry reading series, and a member of the 7 O’Clock Poets group. Her work has appeared in print and online in such publications as Ars Medica, carte blanche, Switchback, and the anthologies Desperately Seeking Susans and Body and Soul. She reads frequently on Toronto stages, and was a participant in the 2017 IFOA Battle of the Bards. She is the author of two full-length poetry collections, How to Get Over Yourself and All This Blood, both from Piquant Press, and three chapbooks, including a conversation in poetry with Elana Wolff. She is the editor of the anthology Catherines, the Great, forthcoming from Oolichan Books.
Both Shab-e She’r and St-Stephen-in-the Fields strongly support freedom of expression and encourage our features and open-mic’ers to use any language they wish.
This event is partially sponsored by St-Stephen-in-the Fields Church.
St-Stephen-in-the Fields accessibility information:
The venue has a wheelchair ramp entrance and is all on one level; however, the wheelchair ramp door does not yet have a pushbutton, so someone needs to hold the door open. There is one fully barrier-free washroom.
All washrooms are gender-neutral.
