Nasim Asgari is a 19-year-old thinker, dreamer, a seeker and student of the truth who happens to passionately write and perform poetry, while studying human rights and equity studies at York University. Nasim began writing at the age of 10 when she decided to use her voice and written words to express herself and bring awareness to issues that are often undermined in the world today. Nasim has shared her poems at many events and poetry slams. A collection of her poetry will soon be available in her upcoming book, titled “what was swept under the Persian rug. Luciano Iacobelli is a lifelong Torontonian of Italian extraction. He is a poet, a publisher and occasionally a visual artist. He is the co-owner of Quattro books and sole owner of Lyricalmyrical Press. His full length collections of poetry include The Angel Notebook, Painting Circles (bilingual Spanish and English), The book of Disorders, The Emu Dialogues, and most recently The Examined Life.
As a poet he believes the mind can sing as well as the heart and sometimes they can sing in unison.Radwan Altaleb has been a member of the Syria Music academy since 1998. He is an experienced and a diverse teacher and performer and is able to teach western and Arabic classic and folk music lessons. Radwan graduated from the National Syrian Academy of Music and has been teaching in Syrian Music schools since 1997.Radwan is considered as a solo and orchestral violinis and oudist. He plays with Syrian national orchestras, as oudist and violinist, Canadian Arab Orchestra,. He has arranged and composed music that is performed by Syrian Arab heritage band.
Both Shab-e She’r and St-Stephen-in-the Fields strongly support freedom of expression and encourage our features and open-mic’ers to use any language they wish.

The venue has a wheelchair ramp entrance and is all on one level; however, the wheelchair ramp door does not yet have a pushbutton, so someone needs to hold the door open. There is one fully barrier-free washroom.
All washrooms are gender-neutral.
