Polotechnics Anniversary Party: Sepehr, Koohyaar, Paria

Polotechnics turns one! This is a special event with the best of New York and Toronto underground Iranian artists: Sepehr, Koohyaar and Paria.

Sonic maverick Sepehr of Shaytoon Records returns to headline this all night dance party at a brand new venue, The Bridge on Adelaide Street West. His DJ sets range from off-kilter house and psychedelic techno, to haute electro, aphrodisiac acid and freaky jakbeat. A live set by Koohyaar and a DJ set by Paria from Secret Contact Records open the night promising dark, groovy sounds rooted in experimental electronics, dub and industrial techno.

Polotechnics shines a light on international and local artists from the Iranian diasporic
underground, shifting and broadening perspectives of Persian electronic music. From
high-energy dance beats to contemplative sound art, Link Music Lab’s new series invites a
range of genres such as EBM, electro, techno, acid and all things synth. Polotechnics is a
portmanteau of “Technics”, the Japanese brand name for a line of high-end audio equipment and the Farsi word for rice, also polo, aiming to nourish the soul by expanding perceptions of Iranian electronic music.
