About Natalia:
Natalia Lumby is an Associate Professor at the School of Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University, Toronto. She is always looking for new ways to be creative. While teaching the technical side of typography for many years, Natalia fell in love with the art-making aspect of letters. With little time to spend thinking about what to draw, letters became the perfect art form to get away from the computer screen. Her lettering studio, Little Chestnuts, started when Natalia was looking for ways to capture the silly things her daughter said as a toddler. Quickly realizing that other parents also struggle to capture those precious moments, she began to share her skill with others—lettering the funny and lovable quotes of kids. In addition to personalized quotes, today the studio has expanded to include fun wall art, interactive art, children’s books and invited workshops. The most rewarding aspect of Little Chestnuts is that all proceeds from the studio go to charity.
