- Overview
CineIran returns for the 3rd time this November, bigger and better than before.
The festival will be held in two different venues—TIFF Bell Lightbox and Art Gallery of Ontario—and will feature 17 films, 10 guests, two workshops, and several Q&A sessions and panel discussions.
The festival will be host to some of the biggest names in Iranian cinema today, including legendary actor Reza Kianian (who will supervise an acting workshop), superstars Pegah Ahangarani, Rambod Javan, Negar Javaherian, Mohsen Tanabandeh and Anna Nemati, among others.
The festival’s lineup includes a competition section featuring 12 films. These include some of the most acclaimed films of the year, such as No Date, No Signature (winner of the best actor and best director awards at the Venice Film Festival’s Horizons section), Subdued (featuring a stellar performance by Leila Hatami), Rambod Javan’s exciting crime thriller Negar, and many more.
The program will also include a mini-retrospective of Abdolreza Kahani’s career (including two free screenings and a directing workshop supervised by the filmmaker), and a free screening of a restored 16mm print of the feminist classic The Sealed Soil (1977).
Tickets will be on sale Friday, October 20th at 10:00am.
