- Overview
Disconnect from the outside…and connect with yourself from the inside.
I believe there is a writer in all of us; whether it’s through the act of journaling, or writing the first draft of your memoir.
Sometimes all we need is a beautiful and safe space to be creative.
Come join us on Saturday, November 2nd, for an urban retreat where we will Write from the Heart. You’ll be served a light breakfast as you come in—herbal tea, chai, coffee—and homemade muffins.
Among like-minded company, we will write, eat and relax. I’ll serve a Persian-style vegetarian lunch for all of you and end the retreat with herbal tea and cake for everyone. Sound interesting? Sign up! Have questions? Pop me an email on sosaadat@gmail.com
Key Components:
We will go through two main genres of non-fiction writing: memoir and personal essay. There is no pressure to define your genre, but for those of you who are looking to sharpen your skills, we will discuss the different forms of writing, with examples of published work. There will be time to write, reflect, and discuss. I will share my successes and failures with you, and the strategies which helped me become a better writer over the years. I’ll also talk about my experience with getting my pieces published (and how to pitch to editors), if that’s what you would like to do with your writing in the future, too.
If all you’re looking for is a safe space to quietly write, and enjoy breakfast and a delicious Persian lunch, then this is the place for you. Your wishes will be respected.
