Crepuscular Earth
In the world, we are as much on the earth as in its entrails.
The earth is the flesh of the eye. Both are round and majestic.
There are as many bodies in the earth as there are earths in the bodies. Earthy bodies, bodily earth.
We have so often gone under the earth that we have lost count. So, we become the earth and again the flesh. Earth and flesh are as much our cradles as our coffins. We are the body of the earth that softens our bones deep in the tombs.
In my studio, I am a thousand closed eyes, a thousand lost ears, a thousand sealed mouths and a thousand anxious hands. I dig the earth in my studio, move the mountains, search the caves, march the valleys, empty the seas, to find beings who are lost deep inside themselves… and so, I have added seven red holes on the face of the earth and from each hole have sprouted seven bodies and from each body have grown seven heads and from each head have sprung up seven thoughts and from each thought have emerged seven other red holes …
In my studio, I am as much on the earth as I am below the earth. - Photos
