Event Category: Art Gallery and Exhibits
- Overview
In this lecture, you’re invited to witness an alternative history to early cinema. In the Qajar court, the moving image was not introduced in the popular fairground as it was in North America and Europe. It was adapted to accommodate the needs of the political and artistic elite. Join film professor Kaveh Askari, as he takes you through the unique Qajar court system and how artists developed new programs of art education, crafting a new approach to space and portraiture. Free with Museum admission.
