- Overview
On Thursday April 19th, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Queen Gallery, we invite you to celebrate the Queen Gallery’s one year anniversary for our Poetry & Music Nights as we move along to the fun and uplifting music of up-and-coming Toronto artist, Brandyn Leo!
Brandyn Leo is a singer-songwriter, born to Jamaican immigrants and raised in Toronto. His love for music began when he discovered his voice in elementary school and was encouraged by his teacher to perform for his class. From there he sang in church, graduated from Randolph Academy of the Performing Arts with the Triple Threat Award, performed in theatre, and is now building his career as a recording artist in Toronto. He was formerly part of MARTY-nominated group, Iambic, along with two other aspiring rappers. The group’s urban hip hop sound influenced Brandyn’s own personal sound as an artist and strengthened his song-writing skills. Brandyn now performs as a solo artist whose sound comes from a mixture of dancehall, reggae, classical, gospel, R&B, and hip hop.
We want to thank last month’s featured poet, Negin Motamed, for encouraging us at the Queen Gallery to start up these poetry & music nights again.
Join us every third Thursday of the month for an open mic night of music and poetry! Bring your poetry, songs, illustrations, music, and friends, and enjoy a fun night out at our lovely gallery.
We welcome any style of poetry and music in any language. As long as it is acoustic music.
The entrance fee is $5 cash donation at the door.
Queen Gallery, 382 Queen Street East, Toronto
