Egg decorating is one of the traditions related to the Norouz celebrations. Norouz meaning “new day” in Persian, takes place during the spring equinox and marks the Persian New Year. In preparation for the holiday, family members come together to paint and decorate eggs. It is said that it is from this cultural tradition that the Christian egg decorations practice originates.
This spring we welcome all cultures, traditions, and religions to come together to celebrate Norouz.
