Link Music Lab & Good Kind Productions bring Afro-Fusion-Dub and Persian avant garde santur to the forefront in our 3rd Polyphonic Presents concert.

Singer-songwriter Sina Salimi fuses Persian poetry with original lyrics, drawing inspiration from his Persian roots and his favorite American composers such as Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits and Philip Glass.

Link Music Lab

Link Music Lab is a Toronto-based artist collective whose mandate is to create top-quality multicultural concert productions and innovative cross-cultural recording collaborations between member artists at all levels of professional/career development. Founded in 2009 by Mahmood “Moudy” Schricker, a Tehran-born and Toronto-based musician and ethnomusicologist, Link employs an ethnomusicological approach to developing concert and recording projects. While the company already enjoys a diverse range of Persian music from classical to electronic to fusion, Link’s vision is to be seen at the forefront of contemporary multiculturalism in Toronto — moving beyond its foundations in Persian music and the cliche of the “Toronto mosaic” to facilitating collaborations that unite various cultures in entirely new musical and creative contexts.

Good Kind Productions

Good Kind Productions is a not-for-profit arts presenter/producer that believes that there are only two kinds of art — they’re interested in the Good Kind. In addition to producing tours and concerts, GKP has worked with partners including Small World Music, Massey Hall/Roy Thomson Hall and the Aga Khan Museum and is the producer of Sofar Sounds Toronto, the local branch of a worldwide network, producing secret shows in alternative spaces.
