مجلسِ مهمان کُشی -Surprise Party

بیش از سه دهه پس از پاگیریِ «جامعه‌ی ایرانیان مهاجر در کانادا / تورنتو» و نشر و تولید پرشمارِ آثار و اجراهای نمایشی با تلاش هنرمندان و دوست‌دارانِ هنر تئاتر، «سورپرایز پارتی: مجلسِ مهمان کُشی» نخستین اثر نمایشی فارسی است که از دل همین جامعه برمی‌خیزد و آینه‌وار، مستقیم و صریح، بر گوشه‌هایی از زندگی، روابط، دیدگاه‌ها، فراز و فرودها، گره‌ها و درگیری‌های آشکار و پنهانِ آن در همین لحظه‌ی حاضر انگشت می‌گذارد.

With it’s swift rhythm and provocative ideas, “Surprise Party” is a unique play revolving around the conflicts in views and relationships between couples, friends, and characters of different genders and generations of the contemporary Iranian immigrants residing in Toronto, Canada; addressing some serious issues, including social and cultural topics, gender, sexuality and various aspect of identity crisis within the Iranian-Canadian community. Written by Sasan Ghahreman and directed by Behrooz Salimi, Surprise Party is the first Persian professional theatre production in Toronto directly involved with the lives and contemporary issues related the Iranian community in this city.
