- Overview
9428 is the story of a child, withdrawn from the lap of the motherland to land in a new land, yet to face the unknown.
The story of a monster, that is not a monster but a reflection of one’s fears!
It is a story of confronting fears, befriending them, and learning to live with them.
In 9428, the playwright, Amin Shirazi, illustrates a notion of what is known as home and the struggle to find new meaning in a world where nothing feels or sounds like home. The play aims to provoke awareness among young adults regarding the challenges the new members of our community may go through when they arrive. These struggles and challenges may not be visible at first yet living with them can be frustrating and cause ongoing anxiety. As BIPOC artists, it is essential to shed light on these challenges and create a hopeful cultural bridge between the old and new worlds to make the transition process more visible for everyone.Tarragon Extraspace
