The Journey : Notes of Hope

The Iranian-Canadian Composers of Toronto is proud to bring onto stage its second opera “The Journey: Notes of Hope” produced by Parsai Immigration and made possible through Toronto Arts Council’s generous assistance on November 2nd and 3rd 2018.
The Journey: Notes of Hope is an operatic production that tells the story of displacement, diaspora and migration.
This production is a rare and culturally important event, and its objective to shed light on the challenges of displacement is incredibly significant in our troubled times, and within various communities. This hour-long operatic production tells the story of refugees moving away from their homeland and through many challenges finding, or perhaps trying to find, their place in their new home.

Team: Amanda Smith, director, Maziar Heidari, Conductor Banoo Zan, librettist, Zorana Sadiq singer, Anahita Dehbonehie stage and costume design, Noah Feaver lighting design, as well as all 5 composers at ICOT, Maziar Heidari, Saman Shahi, Afarin Mansouri, Pouya Hamidi and Keyan Emami.

Our ensemble of musicians is also made up of refugees, newcomers as well as professional musicians in Toronto.

This production will will take stage for two nights on Friday November 2nd and Saturday November 3rd at 8pm. Tickets will be available both online and at the door.

While we love having the young ones at our concerts, we unfortunately cannot admit any guests under the age of 8 in this production.
