MANAGING YOUR PERSONAL IMPACT FOR BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS

If you’re a leader, a manager, a professional or a businessperson, you need to look, sound and act like one if you’re to command authority and be taken seriously. During this presentation, Yvon Chouinard will explain how important it is to start with the end in mind in responding to a few key questions: What impact do you want to make? How do you want others to experience you?

In this regard, you must think of yourself as a product or a brand that you need to represent effectively to the rest of the world.People always form an impression of you whether you like it or not – and that impression greatly affects what you are able to achieve personally and professionally. Therefore, it is crucial to actively manage the perception others have of you. You shouldn’t leave those things to chance.

 

YVON CHOUINARD

Yvon Chouinard is an Executive Coach and Practice Leader at Pauze Coaching in Montreal.

He is also the president of his own HR consulting firm Isotope Conseil Inc. He is a recognized expert in mentoring, supporting organizations in the implementation of mentoring programs, including mentor and mentee training.

He is a frequent speaker at conferences on themes such as Leader as Coach, Mentoring, Strategic Thinking, Leadership, Strategic Communications and Political Skills. He has written dozens of articles about management, leadership, coaching and mentoring. He recently co-published a book entitled “Impact” about physical leadership to help executives and managers improve their executive presence.

Before beginning his career as an executive coach, Yvon spent most of his 35-year management career with the Power Corporation of Canada group, a major public company with holdings primarily in insurance, investment management, media, and energy sectors. For several years he managed Power Broadcasting Inc., before moving to Power Technology Investment Corporation, a venture capital company, where he was Executive Vice President.

Yvon holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (B.A.A.). He also completed a graduate program in mentoring and a Minor in Psychology. He is a Certified Human Resources Professional and Certified Coach by International Coach Federation. He is President of Mentorat Québec, a Past President of ICF Quebec, and a member of the Institute of Coaching of Harvard Medical School in Boston.
