“Growing up without much, Millad’s family instilled the values that made him who he is today. His parents were refugees fleeing a war-torn country and found asylum in Canada. They originally lived in Quebec but after some moving around they found themselves calling Vaughan home. Millad has lived in Vaughan his whole life, he grew up here, made many friends, met a lot of people, got an education, spent both the highs and the lows of his life in this very city. Now, many people always ask him why he decided to run for the municipal elections, and his answer is simple, “to give back.” Vaughan has blessed him with opportunities, opening doors in every part of his life allowing him to thrive. Although Vaughan is a great city, like all great things, Millad believes there is still room to improve.
‘Growing up, I always saw myself giving back to the people, changing people’s lives for the better. Being a leader in my community. This is the opportunity for me to take that role.’
Millad knows that our city is capable of more than it delivers right now. He wants to bring real change to Vaughan. He wants to destroy the stigma around politicians, the stigma that politicians consist of corrupt men and women who abuse a position of power for personal gain. He will accomplish this by being a clean and genuine public servant. This is not just Millad’s journey, but all of ours. Together, we can make a better tomorrow for all of Vaughan’s residents and future generations to come.”
