Renee Health

Dr. April Renee Ruffin is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician, health coach, keynote speaker, and dedicated entrepreneur. Her journey into medicine began at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, where her passion for life sciences ignited. Graduating summa cum laude from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s in Biological Science and a minor in Africana Studies, she honed her skills.

Her journey continued with an internship at the National Women’s Health Network, where she cultivated her interest in health education. This journey led her to earn her Doctorate of Medicine at Wright State University, complete a General Surgery intern year at Morehouse School of Medicine, and finish her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The University of South Alabama.

During her residency, her focus on health education, improving health literacy, and reducing health disparities deepened. Driven by the desire to empower individuals to take an active role in their health and wellness, she’s committed to enhancing health literacy and guiding people to advocate for themselves.

Dr. Ruffin’s remarkable journey extends to her role as the founder and CEO of Renee Health. Here, she offers health coaching, health education, and captivating speaking services.

In addition, she co-founded and serves as the Executive Director of Young Debs Inc, a non-profit mentoring program for youth in Baltimore. With 20 years of experience in mentoring youth and undergraduate/professional level students, she extends her mentorship to future physicians and healthcare professionals. She also helps individuals and organizations build and implement effective mentorship.

Her influence doesn’t stop there. Dr. Ruffin has graced the stages of prominent platforms, including ABC WMAR, FOX 45, Omega Baptist Church (Dayton, Ohio), Y.E.S. Club (Baltimore, MD), Empowerment Temple (Baltimore, MD), and numerous schools, civic organizations, and educational institutions.
