Saba Yousefi

Saba Yousefi is an acclaimed Iranian-Canadian violinist, educator, and administrator, known for her innovative contributions to the music world. Co-founder of LyreIran, a collaborative organization that provides free and accessible educational content for music students globally with a focus on the Middle East, Saba is dedicated to advancing music education and accessibility.

Holding a Master of Violin Performance and a Bachelor of Violin Performance with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, Saba has also been a member of the University of Toronto Pedagogy School. Her research explores novel methods for professional musicians to overcome physical injuries and develop mental health techniques.

Saba is a former member of the Chaam Trio, a Toronto-based ensemble celebrated for blending Traditional Persian music with contemporary Western techniques. Her excellence in music has been recognized with the University of Toronto Graduate Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Her recent endeavors include conducting workshops for composers, hosting webinars for music students, and performing for social and cultural causes.

A former member of the Ontario Philharmonic, Saba has performed across Canada, the Middle East, and China as both a soloist and chamber musician. Her commitment to contemporary music is exemplified by her upcoming performance at Salle Bourgie Hall in Montreal, featuring contemporary pieces by Iranian women composers.

Currently, Saba is developing her concert schedule for 2024 and has completed a successful training course in fundraising within the art industry. Her dedication to modern repertoire and innovative performances continues to enrich the music community.
