- Profile
The Toronto Book Club is an independent, not for profit organization formed in September of 2006 for the review of the social, political, literary, and artistic aspects of the contemporary history of Iran.
The 1905 constitutional revolution was elected as the starting point of this journey. The first session of the book club was held on Friday, October 13, 2006, in which the book “Fekr Azadi va Moghadameh Nehzat Mashrootiat” written by the late Freidoun Adamiat was reviewed.
Hailed with a warm welcome from the audience, monthly sessions of the club, which started as a book reading club, transformed into speaking engagement by experts and also the public launch of the latest published books.
Toronto Book Club sessions are a unique opportunity for experts and the public to interact, and a forum in which researchers can directly present their findings and hear public comments and points of views.
The Toronto Book Club has organized 144 sessions thus far, usually held on the 2nd Friday of each month. Recordings of the sessions are uploaded onto the Club’s website, and on social media, below links.
