- his building was built in 1970 to form the classroom hub connecting Science A, Mathematical Sciences and Social Sciences buildings, but also contains some space designed for Physics Labs.
- With twenty classrooms and two large lecture theatres, giving a total seating capacity of 2,202, it immediately became a centre of student activity on campus.
- The iconic metal sculpture, the Zipper, stationed in the middle of Science Theaters has been stolen twice, disassembled once, coated in plastic wrap and has had a car constructed around it by Engineering students.
- It remains a long-standing pre-exam ritual for students to give the Zipper a spin for good luck.
