- Originally named Calgary Hall when it was built in 1965, Craigie Hall was renamed after the untimely death of former Vice-President (Academic) Peter C. Craigie in 1987.
- The Craigie Hall complex is comprised of a number of adjoined buildings. Here you will find the Boris Roubakine theatre and the Matthews theatre.
- The only major fire on campus started in the mechanical shaft of the E block in 1982 due to work by a welder. Damage was extensive in the mechanical penthouse on E block with smoke and water damage in adjacent areas. Restoration cost were approximately $1,000,000 and it was completed in approximately three months by Buildings & Grounds.
- Craigie Hall is home to the Program of Dance and the Departments of Drama, Music, French, Italian and Spanish, and Germanic, Slavic and East Asian Studies.
